Rugged mountain views, deep gorges, the densest forests, seasonal wildflowers, streams, waterfalls, natural caves, natural parks etc -all go to make up the perfect and pleasant environment for the land of tribal people. Whether you are a tourist, amateur naturalist, wildlife aficionado, ornithologist, artist or photographer, Bastar gives you the rare opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural habitat. It is firmly a tribal area, where the natural beauty can easily attract the tourists at first sight itself. Art & culture is the valuable ancient property of the Bastariyas. From the view point of tourists and tourism, Bastar is perfectly called the 'Kashmir of Chhattisgarh' and placing Bastar on the map of tourism, would definitely attracts the foreign tourists.
You yourself have to go there to feel the actual touch, to experience the nature yourself. Also look out for giant ant-hills (eight to twelve feet high) and trees that have shot up straight into the sky and branched only after attaining a height of 80 feet or more. This phenomenon is attributed to the density of the forest - the trees have shot for to the sunlight necessary for growth, available only from the top. In the Kurandi forests, there are four ancient (over 500 years old) teak trees, named after the four brothers of the Ramayana : Ram, Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughan.
In the end I could only say, to catch its actual ambiance visit to Bastar is a must!
