Keenly aware of the unfolding boom in the tourism industry, the government is lending a hand to the growth of the industry Outlay for tourism for the Tenth Five Year Plan is Rs. 2900 Crore. For the financial year 2003-04 the outlay was Rs 325 crore.
This is up sharply from Rs 150 crore
