There is one more old Arabic feature, the bargaining and that is an impulsive habit there as far as we could understand . The bargaining percentage may be anything but it is about fifty on average and that a good traveler to Egypt must be known of . The bazaars are as good and vast as the Indian ones in Delhi, Lucknow and Hyderabad.
Like other modern cities of the world , the city of Cairo is too heavily dependent on its transport infrastructure.Transportation in Cairo comprises an extensive road network, rail system, subway system and maritime services. Cairo is the centre of almost the entire Egyptian transportation network The subway system, called ‘The Metro’ locally, is a fast and efficient way of getting around Cairo. It can get very crowded during rush hour. There is also usually a carriage at the front of the train that is reserved for women only.
There is no problem for an independent roamer. An extensive road network connects Cairo with other Egyptian cities and villages. There is also a Ring Road system like Delhi that surrounds the outskirts of the city with exits that reach to almost every Cairo district. There are flyovers, and bridges that allow straight, fast and efficient means of transportation from one side of the city to the other. Cairo traffic is known to be overwhelming and overcrowded but on the whole city transport system and traffic can be dubbed as quite organized especially in view of the massive population and nearly two million cars.
The city of Cairo is the heart of Egypt. It is the centre of almost everything the country is known for. Apart from being a connecting point for the Pyramid lovers, it is the cultural and literary centre of the country too. Egypt ‘s love of the arts in general can be traced back to the rich heritage bequeathed by the Pharaohs, There is great interest in the art of cinema in the country of which Cairo is the centre. The great fans of Indian cinema whenever Egyptians meet an indian they start talking about Amitabh, Shahrukh and Aamir and some of them may also greet you with famous tunes of Bollywood.
Cairo is a city an asian and particulary from India must like especially one who does not mind mixing past with the present and enjoys it a lot. It is a fantastic city, taking care of every type of tourist be it a wealthy or less rosourceful. It has arrangements for both classes with great mass of hotels of all budget and ranges and eateries of every type. You may get indian meals in Cairo and some of the restaurants are particularly good at some famous dishes from india and pakistan. Whenever we wished to please our tongue with some indigenous dish the city did not disappoint us.Cairo has a big stature as one quarter of all Egyptians live there. The majority of the nation’s commerce is generated there, or passes through the city. The great majority of publishing houses and media outlets and nearly all film studios are there, as are half of the nation’s hospital beds and universities. We particularly like the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities , which is known commonly as the Egyptian Museum’ and is a home to the most extensive collection of ancient egyptian antiquities in the world. It has more than one lac thirty six thousand items on display with a great many more in its basement storerooms. And one more thing to add and that is The Cairo Tower, a free-standing concrete TV tower in Cairo,. It stands in Zamalek district on Gezira Island in the River Nile in the city centre. At 187 metres, it is more than forty meters higher than the Great Pyramid of Giza, which stands some fifteen km to the southwest. Isn’t it fantastic, We mean not only the tower but the entire city of Cairo with its wondrous surroundings.
Next day was dedicated to Aswan, a beautiful winter resort enjoying a dry temperate climate. It is situated on the eastern bank of the Nile, a bit more than half an hour and nearly nine hundred KM distance to south of Cairo, linking Egypt with Sudan, and is the gate to the African continent. Small enough to walk around and graced with the most beautiful setting on the Nile, the pace of life is slow and relaxing. The Nile is at its most beautiful at this point, flowing through the amber desert, granite rocks, and round emerald islands covered in palm groves and tropical plants.

Nubia as it was called in ancient times; Aswan and its surroundings had more of an ‘African feel’ to it than any other city in Egypt The main city lies on the east bank of the Nile. Relax here, visit a few mosques, but then prepare for some more interesting things. The bazaars are fabulous but less crowdy than those in Cairo and continues past the Ferial Gardens and the Nubian Museum and on to the Cemetery with its forest of cupolas surmounted tombs from old period. Although you might be forced to give a miss to the expensive hotels with Nubian Dancers performing the fire-act yet in case you are able to manage, the pleasing taste of this ancient culture would be an excellent opportunity and a jolly experience never to be forgotten . We, to be honest before coming to Aswan were just technically in Africa and were actually roaming in an Arabic world but this for the first time introduced us with the innate beauty of Africa in its Egyptian color .To be concise, Egypt looks more original here at Aswan.
