FIEO Joins Hands with Trinidad and
Tobago for Trade Enhancements
The Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) that represents the Indian entrepreneurs' spirit of enterprise in the global market recently organized a meeting with different trade organizations and business delegates from Trinidad and Tobago. The objective of this discussion was to encourage different trade investments in Trinidad and Tobago. The conference also talked about the growing potential of the region to offer world-class tourism to those visiting.
Those present on this occasion were Subhash Goyel, Convener of FIEO, Warren A. Solomon, Director of Tourism, Division of Tourism and Transportation (Tobago House of Assembly), Pundit Maniedeo Persad, High Commissioner, High Commission of Trinidad and Tobago, Anand P. Seth, Deputy Director General, FIEO, Aditya Bahadur, Associate Vice President- Strategic Planning, Medanta and Kulbhushan Bhatt, Head marketing and Reservation, Neemrana Hotels.
The delegates from the country invited Indian investors to set up shop in the country and take advantage of its strategic location to cater to the export markets of the US and Europe at the event. They also expressed that the upcoming Trade Fair in Macoya, Trinidad (May 23-31, 2010) will open up doors for a smoother trade approach.
The event will coincide with India Arrival Day Celebrations that are celebrated with much fanfare in Trinidad and Tobago. FIEO has been participating in events in Trinidad and Tobago for last two years and has found it useful for the exhibitors as Trinidad & Tobago is strategically located and is the most dynamic economy in English speaking Caribbean and has attracted one of the highest rates of FDI in the region.
Indian business houses could consider setting up their base there for export to the Latin America, United States, European Union and other CARICOM markets. Trinidad & Tobago is the Gateway to CARICOM and Latin America.
