Dear Readers,
Recently 'The Wall Street Journal' published a very interesting story that read
'Taoism Goes High Tech'. The story basically explored the brand new installation at Wong Tai Sin, one of Hong Kong's largest Taoist temples. This special technology allows the devotees to slip off a written prayer into a small box and an electronic deity statue then lights up and blow artificial smoke.
Those who are aware of the Taoist tradition know that burning of incense sticks to the deity is a common practice but this latest technology has now brought a whole new dimension to the way we pray and send offerings to the deities. Although, it is a debatable concept whether we should stick on to the
traditions or accommodate changes, I can image how exciting it would be to see the artificial smoke signaling the acceptance of the offering! Thus, as the world welcomed a lunar new year, it embraced a new era of technology in religion, a very fundamental aspect of life as well. But, beyond religion, we all can also foresee a revolution in the travel front.
Since we as human beings are vulnerable to changes, these kinds of
revolutionary ideas will soon catch the imagination of the world and although
the real travellers do not need any external installation to get inspired, such
things will certainly increase the attendance. This is because we love a place for its adaptability as much as for its roots. However, we also agree that the true essence of a place lies in its nature and the real pace it grows in.
Going by this we offer you some of the world's best admired places in this
issue. Discover them in their different yet purest self with us and rejoice the
breathtaking landscapes, famous architectures, interesting spots of importance
and entertainment options! Fly yourself to Yugoslavia, Geneva (Switzerland), Nice(France), Holland and Taiwan and by the word 'Fly' we don't mean your airline experience. The word surely has a deeper meaning! And who knows, you may chance upon some technical marvels in one of those places. It is only a matter of adaptability.
Happy Travelling
